^{What I Did : a lot of cloning,burning,gradient,desat,cropping,resizing,softening .. very tedious -.-, my own photo , see:small version of the original.I know it's not perfect , but i did what i could to the best of my ability, and meant every minute,if that makes any sence.}

The selective desaturation is interesting. In the long list of things you did to this you included softening. Looking at the original I see it did not start out as very sharply focused. That being the case, I wouldn't have added any more softness to the image. I'd suggest starting out with a better original. You seem to be relying on effects to creat an image and IMHO they should only be an addition to, and not the total focus. Try shooting another composition, with good focus and DOF, and then try some of these effects. The result should be an improved image.

I think it's perfect...shapness isn't everything...this leaves room for thinking about it....and I personally think it is already very sharp...I like the colour play and the composition..so top vote from racheal

Good to see you posting again! I like the angle of the shot. The effect you managed to create here is a bit different from what I usually see, but I like it.
Maybe you schould take that crop in consideration again, cause it could be stronger imho. Other than that: good and keep it coming!

I think Thrumyeyez has some good points.. You don't necesarily have to take his words as law, but he definately speaks from experience. I agree, the picture could have been a better one, but what you did with this one greatly improved the image.

Maybe if you put the poem on the image instead of in the description (you know, in a graceful font..), it would make it even better. Take the rose away from the center (bottom right corner) and add the poem somewhere opposite.
And I'd do the french parts in a larger corpsesize and in a soft pink, the english translation in white, or something greyish.
